With the advent of the COVID-19 virus, it has become critical to wear a mask in order to protect ourselves and those around us. Traditional face masks obscure the mouth, limiting visual and auditory cues, which has fundamentally shifted the paradigm of human interaction. We would also like to recognize that mask mandates have acutely impacted the deaf and hard of hearing community.
