The Faculty of Physical Education, Sport and Health is a higher education institution within the University “Ss. Cyril and Methodius” in Skopje, dedicated to the education of highly qualified professionals in the fields of physical education, sport, and kinesiology. The Faculty was founded on 7 August 1977 by a decision of the Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Macedonia. Since its establishment, the Faculty has continuously developed its academic and associate staff in line with curricular reforms and the evolving needs of education, sport, and health. Today, it is recognised for its high-quality teaching and research staff and for the successful implementation of the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS). The Faculty offers study programmes across all three cycles of higher education and educates professionals in the following core areas: Physical and Health Education, Sport, Sport Recreation, and Kinesiotherapy. First Cycle (Bachelor’s Studies) Bachelor’s programmes are offered through four-year (8 semesters) and three-year (6 semesters) study tracks, providing a strong foundation in physical education, sport, and health-related disciplines. Graduates are prepared for professional practice in education, sport organisations, federations, and related sectors. Second Cycle (Master’s Studies) Master’s programmes are offered in specialised fields including Kinesiology, Sport Management, and Sport Tourism, with a focus on advanced academic knowledge, applied research, and professional competencies. Third Cycle (Doctoral Studies – PhD) Doctoral studies are aimed at developing independent researchers and academic professionals in physical education, sport, and health, with an emphasis on scientific research, innovation, and academic excellence. The Faculty is the official publisher of the journal Research in Physical Education, Sport and Health.
