Faduca

Faduca is setting up new 'value chain' business cases centered around the idea of moving ‘value-adding processing’ from western countries to developing countries. So e.g. Ethiopia should not export green coffee beans, but ‘in Ethiopia roasted’-beans (see Ghana should not export raw cocoa beans, but ‘in Ghana processed’-chocolate bars. Etcetera. We think adding more value (by more processing) close to the source is more ‘modern thinking’ than Fairtade (and let alone development aid) The coming years Faduca will build 10 such value adding processing business-cases. We do this by boosting existing processing partners, or helping our partners setting up new ones. We bring in (i) knowledge about western standards,(ii) money and links for sales/distribution in western markets.
