Fallbrook Public Utility District (FPUD) has proudly served the Fallbrook community since 1922, when local residents came together to secure a reliable water supply long before Fallbrook became the community it is today. For more than a century, FPUD has grown alongside Fallbrook — supporting homes, businesses, and a strong agricultural economy while adapting to changing water realities in Southern California. What began as a small, locally formed water district has evolved into a full-service public utility providing potable water, wastewater collection and treatment, and recycled water services across approximately acres. FPUD has a long history of innovation and resilience. From becoming a founding member of the San Diego County Water Authority, to navigating decades-long water rights challenges, to developing diversified water supplies that include imported, local, and recycled sources, the District has consistently focused on reliability, sustainability, and local control. Today, FPUD serves roughly residents, with agriculture remaining a vital part of the community — accounting for a significant portion of water use. The District also produces approximately 1.5 million gallons of recycled water daily, supporting efficient and responsible resource management. Guided by an elected Board of Directors and dedicated professional staff, FPUD remains committed to protecting public health, maintaining critical infrastructure, and delivering high-quality utility services that reflect the values of the community it was created to serve. FPUD exists because Fallbrook created it — and it continues to serve Fallbrook with that same local commitment, today and into the future.
