The Concept Behind Falto Cigars Since 1995, the year when La Garita Cigar Company, Inc.(today legally known as Tabacalera Falto, Inc.) was founded, for Luis J. Falto, President, CEO and Master Blender of the company, the creation of unique cigar blends has been a labor of love - it is the concept of Falto Cigars. The blends are unique because he creates them with a specific size or cigar vitola in mind. This has been Falto’s concept, because he believes that a certain vitola best complements and develop the different tobacco flavors that make up the blend of the cigar. Contrary to the big, mass-market cigar companies, who manufacture their blends in various sizes, Tabacalera Falto, Inc. presents its blends in only one size. This method and perspective has taken Falto to create a collection of twenty wo (22) cigars, all different, repeating vitolas in only three (3) occasions. It is important to point out that the latter, still have their own distinctive blends. Of all the cigar collection, only one hundred (100) boxes are manufactured annually, whether they include twenty six (26), twenty five (25), twenty (20), ten (10) and/or five (5) cigars per box. Tabacalera Falto, Inc. also manufactures a number of cigar “mazos” or “bundles” (twenty five (25) per bundle), with blends that did not made the final blend, but remain premium cigars and part of the Falto Cigars portfolio. These cigars, three (3) at the moment, are offered to clients in Puerto Rico and to selected clients in the United States. Moreover, with the desire to continue creating unique and different cigars, is the search for that tobacco, that may not be widely used in the industry, but are noble leaves with special flavors and textures. That they are not used should not disqualify them as bad tobacco, to the contrary, they are exquisite. When combined in a blend a spectacular cigar can be achieved. This has been proven by the ratings and reviews published in cigar trade magazines.
