Who We Are Fänas Architecture is a small Colorado-based architectural firm led by partners, Dale and Elizabeth Smith. Both Dale and Elizabeth received their education from the University of Colorado, Boulder and have over 50 years architectural experience between them. Fänas was established in Boulder in with a second office opening in Pagosa Springs in 2006. The firm has been structured to intentionally remain a small firm so that Dale and Elizabeth can maintain full involvement on every project; giving every client the attention required to ensure an efficient process and successful, creative design solutions. What We Do Fänas Architecture specializes in the planning, design and detailing of custom homes, residential additions & remodels, and a variety of commercial project types. We work with local municipalities, HOA’s, provide zoning and code review, as well as building materials & methods research enabling us to facilitate focused and efficient designs meeting all the “rules” and priorities of the project. We are an in-depth resource for energy efficient and ecologically sensitive design, and have built our reputation on translating client dreams into uniquely designed and artfully crafted structures that sit lightly on the land. Our goal is to manage the design process, ensuring creative, inspiring design solutions, while maintaining an atmosphere of excitement and anticipation for every client.
