The line begins with COSMIQUE, a collection of unique objects conceived of as the journal of a mental voyage, whose blank pages are filled with sketches of metaphors, legends, and phenomena elicited by nature. Tables, wall hooks, and mirrors become characters and incarnate symbols. These dream objects become real in the hands of enthusiastic artisans who work with quality materials that have meaning; such singular objects come to inhabit the places where they are found. Then there is the SUBSTANCES D’HUMEUR collection, a series of mood-enhancing objects arising from research into the practice of ceramics and the design of carpets. Lucie Schweitzer works in Portugal, exploring the pathways of her personal landscape by hand and at her own pace. She does not plan her creations, but instead follows an intuition and, at times, a fanciful image, thus allowing her creativity free rein to follow its own path.
