The core is extracted from the outer jacket, leaving the jacket in situ for fibre insertion and connection:~ Cable cut at two points, typically 100-150m apart.(Accessed from pedestal/chamber and house ingress in the case of the last drop).~ Injection fitting assemblies attached to both near and far end of the cable.~ The patented fluid is pumped between core wrapping and outer jacket to lubricate and compress.~ The hydraulic winch pulls the inner core from the outer jacket, or alternatively, the cable core can be pressed out under the fluid pressure.~ Mini-ducts and/or fibres are either pulled through during core extraction, or inserted into the empty cable jacket post-extraction.
