Faster Payments Scheme Limited

The Faster Payments Scheme is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the new home for UK retail payments, Pay.UK. The Faster Payments Scheme is a Financial Markets Infrastructure (FMI) providing UK bank, building society and non-bank payment service provider's customers with real time, 24x7, account-to-account funds transfers. Faster Payments has been in continuous operation for nearly 10 years and still provides the UK economy with a world leading payments capability. The Scheme processes more than 150 million payment instructions per month, moving nearly per year and is recognised by HM Treasury as a systemically important payment system. With the implementation of its new access programme, over the last two years Faster Payments has opened up access and more than doubled the number of institutions with direct access to the service.
