Before 1980s, there used to be plenty of animal and human resource involved in Indian agriculture. As the economy developed, agri-manpower has reduced and animal power has been replaced by machinery. However, penetration of agri-machinery could not substitute the rate at which manpower has reduced, primarily due to small land holdings. This has created one of the key challenges in agri-support segment of Indian agriculture industry. Being farmers ourselves, we have been observing this problem grow to the extent that farmers now struggle everyday to find agri-support. Unable to reach agri-labour and agri-machinery in-time, critical timelines of farm operations get missed resulting in reduced yield and financial loss to farmers. On the other hand, agri-labour and agri-machinery owners have less job opportunities due to low reach and unawareness of jobs availability in nearby villages. Started in 2023, FAWDA is providing an innovative and full-stack solution by digitally connecting all stakeholders of agri-support ecosystem - farmers, agri-labours and agri-machinery owners, on one platform. FAWDA's one-of-its-kind mobile app is conveniently used by farmers and agri-support providers to connect and book jobs.
