Feakes & Co was founded by Michael Feakes, a solicitor of more than 20 years standing. After working for large commercial firms in London, Bristol and South Wales, Michael set up his own firm in his home town of Chepstow, Monmouthshire, UK. The firm provides legal advice and representation to individuals, families, and small to medium-sized businesses, throughout South Wales, the Forest of Dean, and the West Country including Bristol. We use our extensive legal experience to advise and represent clients in a variety of situations. In every matter and instruction, we combine the commercial knowledge and focus of a large law firm with the high service standards and client care of a small firm. What we do:(1) Act for clients in litigation and disputes, aiming to resolve them quickly and cost-effectively.(2) Prepare and draft contract terms, T & Cs and commercial agreements.(3) Write wills and trusts documents. Examples of current and recent work include- Representing a partnership in a claim against a former partner of the business - Preparing a licence agreement for a business to use with a number of licensees - Drafting wills and codicils, and preparing Lasting Powers of Attorney - Advising an employee on a Settlement Agreement bringing an end to their employment - Bringing court proceedings against the executor of an estate who failed to distribute gifts to beneficiaries - Advising a business how to manage an employee whose performance was unacceptable - Pursuing a claim to challenge a will where the testator did not have sufficient capacity to make it - Advising a sole trader business on the their terms and conditions and other contract terms - Representing and advising a business on copyright and intellectual property matters - Bringing court proceedings for professional negligence - Applying to the Property Tribunal to register an easement Initial telephone and email consultations are free of charge.
