Fedwen Kenya

FEDWEN-KENYA is a National Umbrella Network of Deaf women and girls. We are located in 26 Counties that cuts across all sectors of the country north, south, west and east. The organization was founded and officially registered on 18th September 2008 under the Society’s Act cap 18 of the Laws of Kenya based in Nyeri County. As a Civil Society, the organization is founded on strong principles to foster partnerships that create long-term investment in the vulnerable Deaf women and girls’ population in Kenya through Capacity building. Since establishment FEDWEN has had a strong grassroot presence that aims at providing the Deaf acceptable platform of articulating, representing, advocating and lobbying for recognition and implementation of their rights in relation to health (SRHR), gender, human rights, social Justice, Governance, youth, poverty eradication, cultural affairs and social development. OUR MISSION. To excel in the provision, promotion, regulation and coordination of services and activities geared towards the realization of equal opportunity, rights and empowerment of Deaf women and Girls in Kenya OUR VISION. A barrier free society where Deaf Women and Girls enjoys equal opportunities. OUR MANDATE. FEDWEN-KENYA’s overall mandate is to advocate for the rights, recognition and inclusion of Deaf women & Deaf Girl -child to achieve equalization of opportunities in the society and for connected purposes. OUR PHILOSOPHY. FEDWEN-KENYA shall strive on routinely basis to learn and understand our target beneficiaries’ needs and provide relevant, reliable and dynamic information for the overall success of our work to the community we serve.
