Welcome to Fernweh Collective! Our name reflects the collective desire of our students and leaders to learn about and embrace cultures outside of our own, and the collaborative effort between all of our participants. Fernweh is a German word that expresses the urge to travel and discover the world. Literally translated, Fernweh means "far-sickness" and conveys the idea of a home-sickness for, and longing to experience, places one has not yet visited. Fernweh Collective was founded with one goal in mind: to make cultural education accessible for all. Books can only take us so far- there is so much more to learn by getting outside the classroom.
