Known for her monochromatic sculpture like works, Céline creates three-dimension, thickly textured paintings dragging trowel-like tools through the compound to create voluminous layers - the compositions of a clay/concrete medium infused with a pigment of single, deep colour. A thickly textured approach to painting, creating opulent organic forms through an expansive yet controlled use of colour, contemporary Sydney based artist Céline flicks between textural monochromatic wall sculptures & fibrous organic-matter hangings. With the therapeutic repetition of wrapping, weaving & construction, each piece is truly individualised & unique in its entirety. Ultimately encapsulating a piece of Céline’s sentimental & intangible energy.
