Creativity is a driving force in society and many creative outlets are rooted in diverse cultures and identity. But diverse contributors are rarely credited or included in the curation processes. FIIRI exists for the purpose of encouraging the creativity in people of color,(not defined by one race) both in front of the limelight and behind the scenes. For underrepresented groups, our identities are often shown as a struggle from beginning to end, with racial traumas often becoming the “defining factor” in our success. But our success lies in our individual power, our beauty, our ancestry, and the vibrancy and celebration of the communities we are a part of.
