Finance Council Brussels

In 2015, the Financial Council Brussels embarked on its mission at the heart of European politics. Co-chaired by Markus Ferber MEP, Chairman of the Financial Commission of the European Parliament, and Mo El Husseiny, Managing Partner of Ventura Capital, this collegium stands at the forefront of Europe's financial discourse. Dr. Michael Spangenberger served as the inaugural Secretary-General of the Council. His unfortunate passing in early 2023 deeply touched the members. In homage to his father's dedication, Marcus C. Spangenberger took the reins, ensuring the Council's vision thrived. The Council's core mission is to unify a select group of financial experts, policymakers, and bankers in Brussels, fostering in-depth exchanges on Europe's most pressing financial challenges. Meeting biannually in the immediate vicinity of European Commission and Parliament, discussions range from fiscal themes to innovative solutions. Symbolic of the session's two-fold structure, members engage in an initial debate followed by an insightful 'dinner speech' during an intimate dinner setting. Amidst shifting financial landscapes, the Financial Council Brussels, with its legacy and leadership, remains committed to charting a prosperous path for Europe's financial horizon.
