ART THAT MAKES YOU FEEL’. With every artwork, I strive to create an instinctive response in the viewer. I have an incredibly visceral, almost physical reaction to colour, meaning that any palette I choose is essentially a reflection of my own emotional state in the moment of application. 2023 sees me proudly introducing The ‘Reciprocity’ Collection. A collection of restrained colour studies completed in acrylic gouache - a soft, velvety pigment filled paint that is a natural progression from my ink work. This collection of clean, colour saturated, large scale artworks is a natural transition from my Ethereal Collection. Drawing inspiration from the Hard Edge painting movement, I use richly pigmented hues to explore the relationships between colours and their effect on those who experience my art. In this series of large-scale paintings, I aim to create a sense of balance and serenity by using opposing colours in a harmonious way. Each work is based on my interpretation of human relationships, breaking them down to a simplified visual story. ‘Reciprocity’: the quality or state of being reciprocal : mutual dependence, action, or influence. When you see the work, the name makes sense.
