Firma Skin is the first dermatology informatics (a.k.a. derma-informatics) and tele-dermatology company that specializes in utilizing advanced image analysis algorithms to identify skin diseases and skin conditions. Tapping on acquired technological know-how to identify melanoma disease, Firma Skin derma-informatics team aims to develop other analytical tools to recognize non-melanoma (i.e. Basel cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma) and other non-cancerous skin conditions (i.e. STD/STI, eczema, melasma, wound, etc.) The developed application provides healthcare professionals and end users access to real-time analytical results, treatment recommendations and clinical insights. Other features include archiving of skin disease and condition images for clinical reference and consultations. The skin images obtained from various sources can be aggregate to assist in nationwide skin epidemiology research. Pharmaceutical research entities and healthcare professionals can utilize the processed data to generate statistical reports; to optimize topical drugs performance and improve treatment outcome for patients.
