Fk Your Diet Restaurants

As a foster kid, I moved around for 12 years. That meant living with a lot of different foster moms—and a lot of different "chefs." To be honest? Most of them were pretty terrible. Nine days out of ten, dinner was rough. But on that tenth day? The clouds would part, they’d channel their inner Betty Crocker, and they would drop a meal fit for a king on the table. Growing up, I didn't have the coolest clothes or the newest gadgets, but on the good meal days, I felt like everyone else. I felt worthy, important, and loved. Those exact comfort-food meals are the ones on our menu today. After high school, I spent a successful career in sales, got married, and raised two sons. I showed my love for them—and every kid in the neighborhood—the only way I knew how: by cooking. Eventually, my girlfriend Amy and I retired to Florida at 45. But after 18 months of sitting around, we knew we had more to give. We opened FK Your Diet to showcase that incredible foster-kid comfort food and, more importantly, to give back.
