Translated from German, the term Flaschengeist means ‘Spirit in the Glass’. The concept first began in Munster, Germany around 25 years ago were university students with little to spend sought cheaper ways of enjoying their favourite drinks. This unique idea of consuming smaller quantities with the ability to refill, rather than traditional and more expensive bottles, became widely spread throughout Europe. In 1997, the founder, Milton Karan acquired the Australasian Master License from Flaschengeist Germany and began operations in Australia, New Zealand, and Asia. During 2002 – 2008, Flaschengeist operated across 20+ retail stores around Australia and New Zealand. Then, Milton dreamt of being able to offer the Flasch experience to every household around Australia and this began the hugely successful direct sales side of Flaschengeist. From 2008 – 2019, the company hosted over in-home parties. And, today, we are exclusively online, providing customers with a 24/7 Flasch experience. The company is still run by Milton, alongside his daughter, Fiona. As a team, they are spreading the spirit of celebrating life’s special moments through unique gifts for every occasion, taste, and budget.
