Fluvanna Leadership Development Program

Our Mission: To inform and educate interested citizens about Fluvanna County and the issues and challenges it faces; to prepare its citizens for involvement; and to encourage their participation in keeping Fluvanna a desirable place to live, work, and enjoy life. Each year, the Fluvanna Leadership Development Program (FLDP) presents a curriculum of approximately 16 different sessions scheduled over seven months, each focused on a different aspect of the county and its resources. Sessions include presentations by county officers and departments, representatives from the schools, local law enforcement and fire and rescue departments, local businesses, volunteer organizations and others. Class members also become better acquainted with the geography of our community. Each session is held in a different location and a bus tour throughout the county is guided by people well versed in Fluvanna’s history.
