Fn Project Nutritional Centre, is the centre for research and study of human nutrition located in Lugano. The principles that underpin our activities can be found in the definition of bioethics. Bioethics encompasses all the moral aspects of biological research and medicine, is interdisciplinary in nature and involves countless fields, from biology to law and thus also food science. When Fritz Jahr coined the term in 1927, he did so on the basis of Kant's categorical imperative, which indicated certain precepts, one of which was that:"any living being was to be entitled to respect to be treated as individuals/people ends in themselves and not as means or objects of consumption." We therefore took this principle as a model and as a founding value, we introduced it and made it the reason for our activity: man at the centre. We have decided to take a different path. We start from the assumption that the person is the protagonist who lives his or her life, who relates to others, who has his or her own habits, fears and problems, and we try to understand what the pathogenic or "para-pathogenic" factors in his or her eating life might be. For us it is important to understand before giving advice, because without a real space-time abstraction projected onto the individual it is not possible to indicate a correct path. For us it is important that the person is aware of his or her state, understands the dangers of his or her behaviour and considers nutrition not just a psychological release factor but a healthy path towards health and wellbeing, because wellbeing starts from within, from the conscience, from the individual, and we are only useful tools for achieving the goal. For this reason, we accompany and do not guide, we suggest and do not indicate. We are travelling companions for inner growth and to make you better.
