Fondation Sikalobi
The name SIKALOBI, which means "New Tomorrow" in lingala, embodies the company’s desire to create a better world by helping the city of Kinshasa to enter a dynamic of change. The city of Kinshasa faces several health challenges, including dirty hand disease and malaria, largely caused by poor sanitation and garbage in the city. SIKALOBI has identified that the city does not have a regular waste collection system, incineration plant or sorting centre. With approximately tonnes of waste produced every day, solutions to this situation are urgently needed. SIKALOBI aims to be one of the sustainable solutions for Kinshasa and its population by changing the perception of waste among the population. By raising awareness on the different aspects of waste treatment such as collection, sorting, recycling and health risks, SIKALOBI gradually brings a new vision of waste management. By treating waste as a raw material and taking into account the specificities of the African market, SIKALOBI opens a tremendous opportunity for the recycling market in Kinshasa. Join SIKALOBI for a new tomorrow for Kinshasa and for Africa.
