Forestsat
The mission of the Association for Forest Spatial Analysis Technologies (ForestSAT) is to promote and advance the application of remote sensing and spatial analysis technologies in forestry and fully support scientific integrity. ForestSAT strives to facilitate and strengthen cooperation among research organizations, universities, governmental agencies, and the private sector by fostering a science-based understanding of how the latest developments in remote sensing and spatial analysis technologies can optimally be used to assess and monitor the current state of the world’s forest ecosystems and their development over time. ForestSAT recognizes the inherent need to integrate data from the entire suite of remote sensing systems, field-based observations, and other information sources, using state-of-the-art approaches. Relevant applications range across all spatial scales, from the information needs of local forest managers to the development of national and global information products to support ecosystem models and monitoring systems. ForestSAT encourages the exchange between forest practitioners and developers of remote sensing-based products.
