Our project is about to tell the feeling of looking at the world by providing a powerful reflection on the beauty of cartography. Drawing cities on leather is a reduction process of the map from the image to an almost abstract structure, an artistic way of interpretating a certain place, made up of essential lines and balances. The leather skin is the support upon which cities are engraved with laser technologies. Coming from all over the world, the skins we use do not belong to the mainstream leather industry - that would be far from us, in terms of thinking and feeling. Upon such leather skins, we carry out a sort of "palingenesis", a regeneration, consistently with the story they represent. Maps are created through a process of reduction from a real satellite image to a structure made of lines and spaces, where the city emerges in its purest form. Abstraction is for us a creative philosophy, which embraces design and technology. The result is a geometric work where everyday life and art meet each other.
