Fredrikstad Energi

The first light bulb in Norway was lit at Lisleby Bruk. A couple years later, not far from Lisleby Bruk, Fredrikstad Energi started its story in 1895. The Group has been present in the Fredrikstad region for over 100 years, and over the years various events of different magnitude have helped shape Fredrikstad Energi to the business it is today. Today Fredrikstad Energi, with its 125 employees, operates from Askøy in the west, through Follo's deep forests, to Hvalers beautiful archipelago and our headquarteres is located in Fredrikstad, in the center of Ostfold county. Main areas of activities in the Fredrikstad Energi group are: GRID Distribution of energy in our own concession areas. Today, we serve a distribution network with over customers through our subsidary Norgesnett POWER SALES Sale of electricity through the company Smart Energi, and local brands as Askøy Energi, Follo Energi, Røyken Kraft, and Kragerø Kraft. Energy Metering Services Offering services to the B2B market related to business technical workflows in grid and power companies through our subsidiary MAIK Through our involvement in projects such as Smart Energi Hvaler and the EU granted project EMPOWER, Fredrikstad Energi attempts to have a proactive relationship to changes in technology and customer behavior. Thus, always being in a position to seize the business opportunities these changes provide. EU regulations, smart metering, smart grids, green energy and customers as prosumers (producer/consumer) are important changes that will characterize the energy sector in the near future. Fredrikstad Energy wants to take an active role and be part of this journey and we are therefore continuously working to staying one-step ahead!
