FREE STYLE, Inc. was established in 2006, as a Nagoya-based IT company under the corporate philosophy of "Pay it forward". With over 200 team members working across Japan, we specialize in providing comprehensive IT solutions. The game department was started in 2014 searching to find people's enjoyment through our games. We also do work-for-hire projects for games. The development of 'OBAKEIDORO!' started for the sole purpose of exhibiting at a local gaming event. Our aim was simply to bring enjoyment to people of all ages with our creation. Therefore, there was no intention to commercialize it back then, but it was a great success that countless attendees waited to play. The long waiting line for 'OBAKEIDORO!' caught the attention of a Nintendo employee, as Nintendo happened to have a booth nearby ours. He personally approached us to suggest commercializing the game, which led us to develop the game for full release. It is a cute (kawaii) asymmetric multiplayer chase-and-capture game. Japan is famous for Kawaii characters and world settings. As a Japanese company, we use this strength, Kawaii-ness in our game. Since there is no horror or gore but KAWAII, slightly spooky art style, the game is for all-ages and all-genders. The rule is simple. Each match lasts for only 3 minutes with simple control. The players play on either the Human team (3 players) or the Monster team (1 player). They can, however, also strategize their thoughts using characters' skills and traits; these features allow everyone NOT to get bored- Obakeidoro!
