Freestyle was founded in 1985 by Ethwyn Gillian Grant in Cape Town as an artisanal manufacturer specialising in leather goods. As an independently owned family business, we have continued to strive for excellence for almost 40 years to produce high quality handcrafted leather boots, shoes and sandals as well as belts, satchels and bags for the whole family for the South African as well as the sub-Saharan African market. We have been making veldskoen and vellies in the traditional way since 1994, when the late Louis Gerdis of "how are your stocks' fame sold us his shoemaking plant, which dates back to the 1950's. Our vellies adn boots are suitable for outdoor walks, safari-wear, everyday informal workwear, fashion, hunting, tracking, all around DKW's = dance, church and work in the local dialect.
