Fremdkunst

Fremdkunst is the beats & soundscapes project initiated by DJ Mace. It's a blend of hard-hitting beats, funky tunes, cinematographic soundscapes and great thoughts. Fremdkunst is unheard and different. Fremdkunst is live and dynamic. Fremdkunst has arrived. For the original Fremdkunst demo (2007) Mace worked with turntable specialists Optimus & Vindictiv, guitar player Shycop, singer Lieve van Tuijl and others. The Fremdkunst concept itself was created by the strange mind of Bandana Handoekoe. Handoekoe defined Fremdkunst as 'an art form beyond the eye of the beholder' and subsequently Mace reformed this definition into a syncopated outburst of sounds. Fremdkunst is also performed on stage by DJ's Mace, Vindictiv and Optimus, guitar player Shycop and a special guest (different jazz musicians). Fremdkunst live is an adventurous melting pot of jazz, beats and soundscapes and is selected for Popronde 2009.
