FRES Uganda provides energy for domestic use, small business enterprises, and institutions. We have various energy options that can be tailored to specific client needs starting at 300 watts a day. Our clients benefit from low upfront costs, reliable energy supply, timely fault handling, free component replacements, system insurance, upgrades, and downgrades including transfer of the system anywhere in our area of operation at the request of our client. All the client does is pay a small connection fee and a monthly energy access fee while he is using our system. In instances where the client no longer needs our service, the system is withdrawn, refurbished, and leased to a new client. Our 10 years of service have shown that clients prefer our service, to buying their own systems outright because we guarantee energy access and we offer free and timely fault handling which is not the case when they own their systems. We have served over households, 500 schools, 200 worship centers, 50 clinics, and small businesses. Currently, we are exploring opportunities in energy for productive use to support efforts in agricultural value addition and medium-scale enterprises. We are also working on a mini-grid model suitable for rural conditions in Uganda by leveraging our 20 years plus experience in operating mini-grids in West Africa (Mali & Guinea Bissau).
