Friendship Bench

Friendship Bench provides an evidence-based mental health intervention to bridge the mental health treatment gap. Born in Zimbabwe, our evidence-based model has now been replicated in 12 countries across the globe. We work with partners to adapt and scale Friendship Bench in diverse contexts, helping close the global mental health treatment gap. Our mission is to get people out of depression. We do this by creating safe spaces and belonging in communities to enhance mental well-being and improve quality of life through talk therapy. Our aim is to empower people to solve their own problems and realise their capacity to take control of their lives.
