Gadget Capital is a hedge fund with a focus on yield-based strategies in decentralized finance (DeFi). It’s an evergreen (open-ended) fund that seeks to minimize risk for above-market returns without relying on asset price appreciation. We capitalize from market inefficiencies and transact “on chain”, so our success is scalable and tied to increasing ecosystem complexity. We use proprietary knowledge to identify the problems that are worth solving and map the systemic links that amplify risk during periods of uncertainty. Our expert systems use dynamic risk models for an institution-grade approach to leverage. Gadget Capital was founded by siblings Chris Horn and Corinne Powers. Chris has nine years of experience operating blockchain-based financial applications. Corinne holds a PhD from Stanford University where she specialized in convex optimization, intelligent systems and applied risk management. They’ve been managing the fund since 2022, before the Luna Terra and FTX crashes.
