Galatea Digital is a new breed of design and development studio dedicated to the production of rich experiences and tools for STEM education, science/medicine visualization, digital cultural preservation, digital natural history preservation, and academic research. We use the same tools and techniques used to develop blockbuster video games, cinematic special effects, and other entertainment focused media. However, we turned those towards science, art, and engineering. Although we provide rich media content production services, from high speed video, photography, illustration, accurate digital reconstruction, animation and visual effects, we are about so much more. In addition to developing interactive experiences such as video games, augmented reality, virtual reality, and mobile applications, we have our eyes on a larger prize. Our mission, in addition to being a work for hire studio, is to nurture a creative class and educate for creative technology the jobs of the present and future. We offer internships and community training in the markets we serve. We believe many of society’s problems can be attacked with a spirit of informed entrepreneurship, effective innovation, focused creativity, and critical problem solving. Our entire team, while more than qualified to pursue competitive careers in entertainment, has chosen to devote their efforts to promoting research, science literacy, STEM education, and other meaningful work.
