Galeecha started as an exclusive store of Kashmir Handmade Rugs and Handicrafts in 1976 at the World Trade Centre, Mumbai. This was further expanded to include residential and commercial carpets in 1983, at the then famous city attraction, Heera Panna Shopping Centre in Haji Ali - Mumbai, by its visionary leader and founder, Mr Maharaj Padora. Further addition of products took place in the early 1990's with the introduction of wood flooring, especially laminated wood flooring which was a novelty at that time. Our experimentations then, with motorisation in blinds and curtains during its nascent stages, has helped supplement this niche segment which has grown hugely and is expected to be a mass market product very soon.
