The family’s leading role in the state’s emerging automotive industry was cemented in 1908, when H.L. Galles, Sr, founded Galles Motor Company, eventually selling the first 11 cars in the New Mexico Territory, and laying the foundation for what is now the oldest and largest family automotive business in the State.
