Gate 14

Gate 14 has grown organically from a one-man operation housed in a one-car garage by the sea into a thriving, growth-oriented community that marries body and brain with some of the toughest workouts you'll ever undertake. We were founded by two longtime friends steeped in the DIY ethos of early South Bay punk rock pioneers like Black Flag and SST Records. As such, our approach to fitness has always run counter to prevailing gym culture. We see Gate 14 as an approach to movement that explores the larger idea of what it means to be a complex human in an increasingly complex world. Our coaches and staff are seasoned professionals that practice the Gate 14 approach to fitness themselves. They encourage a vibrant, diverse, and inclusive community that integrates physical growth with cultural insight. Gate 14 is not for everybody.
