Gaters

The aim of the GATERS project is to design manufacture and install a retrofit Gate Rudder System (GRS) and demonstrate the effectiveness of the retrofit GRS through sea trials and voyage monitoring. The retrofit solution for GRS will directly improve the vessels performance in energy efficiency and CO2 emission. The GATERS consortium consists of 18 partners across Europe. All the partners have complementary expertise necessary to develop disseminate and exploit the project. GATERS Innovation Action Project is sponsored by the EC H2020 Programme (ID: 860337) with the independent aim and objectives. The project has an official sub-license agreement with Wartsila Netherlands BV to utilise the Gate Rudder Patent (EP 3103715) at specific retrofit projects of vessel sizes below 15000 dwt
