Gateway Mountain Center

At Gateway Mountain Center, a non-profit organization in Truckee, CA, we provide custom enviroliteracy and outdoor education programs, as well as summer camps for school-age children. We also offer clinically supervised nature-based therapeutic treatment for underserved youth struggling with emotional and behavioral challenges, including complex trauma. Through profound connection and guided experiences in the natural world, educational and developmental needs as well as difficult challenges can be safely addressed to illuminate pathways for health and well-being. Our innovative methods connect youth to environments in which they can learn, heal and thrive. Our Whole Hearts, Minds & Bodies program is the first nature-based therapy to achieve full-service partner contracts with county Behavioral Health Departments and the first to receive Medi-Cal certification.
