From humble beginnings, Kayumba Kanama founder of General K Construction has invested his time, energy and skills in the construction industry where his leadership is uncompromised. He was born in Zambia, but grew up in the Democratic Republic of Congo. He left Africa 30 years ago to settle in Los Angeles, CA. After learning English he went on to earn a bachelor of science in electrical engineering from Northrop University in March 1989. After working for several firms he realised he was not a follower but a leader. He decided to re-invent himself and became a licensed electrical contractor in 1991 and a general contractor four years later. Today he is well known for his high quality of his construction projects with great emphasis in excellence and efficiency.
