Gentec EPC Limited is one of Africa’s leading engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractors – best known for turnkey energy solutions. Founded in 1996 as a distributor of industrial diesel generators for the developing world, Gentec shifted focus in 2004 to the full construction of power plants, focused specifically on gas to power generation in Africa. Gentec was an early pioneer in the Nigerian market and invested heavily in developing it’s EPC capabilities to develop CNG and LNG processing facilitates and power plants. The first plants were established in Europe (Belgium and Spain) and subsequently heavily scaled in Nigeria and Sub-Saharan Africa. The Company has successfully built over 60 plants across Africa, Europe and Asia, including IPP stations (captive and commercial), gas power plants, natural gas compression facilities and biofuel and ethanol plants. The group is divided into three subsidiary companies, Gentec Energy Ltd, Natural Gas Technologies (NGT) and Powergas Energy Private Ltd (PEPL). Following the group acquisition of NGT in 2013, a gas focused EPC business, Gentec Energy Plc specialises in building power plants while NGT specialises in constructing gas processing facilities (CNG & LNG). PEPL supports both as the design and engineering backbone, providing O&M services, project management expertise and procurement support.
