Gentofte Brandmuseum

Gentofte Fire Museum was founded in 1987 and is run by volunteers only, with the intent of persevering the history of Gentofte Fire Force. The museum is situated in the Gentofte old fire station from 1909 at Hellerupvej 5b, at the north side of Copenhagen The Collection shows the development of the fire brigade from mid 1800 until today - at the museum you can see the motorised fire engines - including Northern Europe's oldest Danish-built automobile Gideon fire engine from 1919 the Triangel fire engine from the 1930s, and an officer car - Chevrolet Fleet Master from 1946. In the area around Gentofte you can see the old horse pulled fire engines in the original "Hose Houses" The museum is open on Wednesdays between 10am to 2pm - but if you would like to visit the museum at another time you are very welcome to give us a call at:+45 39 62 89 22 or send e-mail to: info@gentoftebrandmuseum.dk and arrange a tour.
