Geoffrey Garber Consulting provides engineering services for the costruction, upgrade and maintenance of electrical substations. These services include design of protection and control, metering and telemetering, automation, integration and SCADA. One of the newest of these services is design of a substation automation and integration network. This network integrates the data from diverse metering systems, protective relays, plant DCS, and utility SCADA to completely automate the control of the substation. Portions of this data are sent to the turbine control system, the utility transmission dispatcher, the power marketer and the reliability council or ISO while staying compliant with NERC CIP requirements. With over 40 years of experience, we have built substations across the U.S. and around the world. Specialties We specialize in the integration and automation of elements of the data systems of diverse manufacturers and clients. This is especially important in making different automation schemes work together to obtain otherwise unavailable synegy.
