German Gemmological Association

The German Gemmolocial Association was founded in 1932. The main goals of the association according to the statutes are to support gemmology as science and technique and the development of gemmological training and education. More than students from more than 80 different countries have participated in the training and education programs of the German Gemmological Association until today, in German or English language. Its Center is located in the heart of the gemstone capital Idar-Oberstein. The training centre meets highest international standards concerning state of the art equipment of classrooms and laboratories. Also maintaining a unique collection and exhibition, the German Gemmological Association is the leading teaching- and research institute for gemstones in Europe.
