Gesgb Young Professionals

The Geoscience Energy Society of Great Britain (GESGB) YP group was set up in 2010 to support and develop Young Professionals working in the energy industry in the UK. We aim to support young professionals and to develop a strong network within the larger petroleum geosciences community. In order to ensure we meet our objectives we organise events, such as networking evenings, as well as lectures, seminars and training courses. The networking evenings are a great opportunity to make new friends, and the courses we co-ordinate offer ways to increase knowledge of the wider industry. We also offer a mentoring programme which matches young professionals with highly experienced individuals from across the industry. Each mentor-mentee relationship is tailored to individual needs and has already received glowing feedback. Finally we offer sponsorship opportunities for undergraduate mapping projects at the 22 top UK universities, aiming to support our future geoscientists.
