Getting Real With Hilary

What is Getting Real? My first book editor asked me an amazing question after she read my book: Why didn't you speak up? I’ve spent a couple of years searching for an answer: I don’t like conflict, I didn’t think it would make a difference if I did, and I was good at pretending. I pretended I was fine, I was pleased, I was good, and I was happy. I didn’t say anything because I didn’t even know I was unhappy. Getting Real is my exploration into Speaking Up. I am experimenting with saying what I don’t think I should say, sharing what I don’t think I should, being uncomfortable, and being vulnerable. Welcome to my exploration. I have created a blog, a YouTube Channel, published a book, began speaking in public, and I write poems of acknowledgment. I would love to hear your feedback.
