Mission Statement GFOA - WMA is a non-profit organization for financial professionals of local, state and county governments in the metropolitan Washington, DC market. Its mission is to promote and foster excellence in governmental management, accounting and finance through educational programs, conferences, networking and training. Membership Membership is open to professionals whose careers involve financial management in the governmental sector. Members may also include professionals from accounting, banking, insurance and investment fields who work with the governmental sector.
