GFREE-WIFEY FOOD BANK started in 2017 when Jessica Danford, a diagnosed celiac wanted to do more than just share her experience and challenges. A blogger and advocate for the celiac community, based out of Toronto, Jessica has established herself as a positive influence and advocate speaking at events, sharing gluten-free lifestyle posts featuring recipes, restaurants, brands, events and strategies. THE MISSION - Ensure Access to safe food while educating and creating awareness for Celiac and gluten intolerance. THE GOAL- Partner with different community charities, non-profit, health care, social service agencies to fundraise for their organization while educating and creating awareness for Celiac and gluten intolerance. THE WORK- Host non-perishable food collections in partnership with local businesses or organizations to benefit partners that have expressed a need for gluten-free food. Host various fundraising campaigns for organizations that have expressed a need for support providing access to gluten-free food. Pair businesses with non-profits to ensure food saving while providing access to safe food. Event Planning, Social media campaigns, Educational sessions or talks Provide emergency food supply for individuals in distress who need access to gluten-free food. NEXT STEPS- Continue to educate on the need for access to safe food, what that actually means for a person with celiac or gluten intolerance.
