GFT Gardens, sustainable & . ‣ On the 19th of March 2020, Mauritius island went under its first sanitary lockdown following the Covid-19 global pandemic. Well beyond its health effects, the pandemic has wrought major challenges to all causing food crises and over 114 million people to lose their jobs over 2020.(Statista, 2021) ‣ Following the loss of his job, Fabien - the founder - seized the opportunity for a post pandemic adventure and dedicated his time to the development of his dream project of PERMACULTURE FARMING. Basically, permaculture is the philosophy of living in harmony with nature, by developing creative solutions that highlight sustainable agriculture. With a family mango orchard of 2 acres that remained uncultivated for many years, he decided, with the strength of his arms and following a well elaborated plan, to take things in hand. ‣ One year later, GFT Organic acquired another 7 acres and now employs local artisans to farm and process 100% organic fruits and vegetables.
