Gharibwal Cement Limited (GCL) was incorporated on December 29, 1960 as a public limited company with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan. Our equity shares are listed on Pakistan Stock Exchange with company symbol “GWLC”. We are a member of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry. We are principally engaged in production and sale of cement. Cement produced by us has played an important role in several national construction projects such as the Mangla Dam, Qadirabad Barrage, Sulemanki Barrage etc. We have a modern state-of-the-art plant with 6700 ton per day clinker production capacity. The plant comprises of about 60% Chinese components and 40% European components that have already been proven and tested worldwide including Pakistan. Specialized equipment and parts like raw mill, coal mill, electrical instruments, packing plant are Europe origin. We also have in-house power generation plant of 38MW. We have quarry of prime limestone and shale having reserves sufficient for 200 years. A 3.5 Km long state-of-the-art conveyor belt can transport 1200 ton per hour of raw materials from quarry to pre-blending yard. Waste Heat Recovery (WHR) Plant is also under test-phase which will generate electricity up to 12MW from the waste hot gases of the process and 8MW from coal-fired system. We have signed a contract with CITIC China for installation of another line of ton per day clinker production capacity along with additional waste heat recovery plant which will increase GCL’s clinker production capacity to 14700 ton per day.
