We create something fun and functional in a given space and we are not constrained to “traditional” perceptions regarding square footage or the labeling of a designated space. We pride our selves on going against the norms in the housing industry by building in a controlled environment. Our cottages don’t have to be huge mansions to have balcony’s, 10’ ceilings, 18/12 roof pitches, and built-in kids forts and slides. We program our spaces to maximize function while keeping the space open for natural light and we rely more on defined cubical space rather than on typical linear undefined space. Yet our cottages seem bigger than they really are because of what we do vertically when using cantilevers on a basic 12’x21’ footprint. It’s no secret that we design our cottages from ideas in fairy tale story books, like Rapunzel’s castle or Robison Caruso’s tree fort. Why? Because its fun, and the end result is something that functions as useable space but without all the dullness, fakeness, or ugliness.
